6 Months

I am almost 6 months along now.

And I am feeling GREAT! Everything seems to be going fairly well---as far as I know and feel.

We had an ultrasound at Radiology Associates in Lethbridge last week. Mont came with me. That's the 2nd appointment he's come to with me and I love when he comes. He came when we heard the baby's heart beat for the first time. That was cool.

The ultrasound was cool too. The technician said we have a very active baby in there. Also told us that the baby's heart beat was at 146 beats per minute. While we were in the ultrasound Mont was jokingly telling me how he could tell it was boy, using gestures, and looking at the screen. I couldn't see the screen from where I was laying. The tech doing the u/s freaked out at me saying she couldn't continue the exam and I'd have to come back another day if I didn't stop laughing. I told her to go on. She was kind of a bag.

The baby moves a lot. I've felt her/him for a long time now. The first time was a little over a month ago. But now it's everyday. And it's amazing. I love it. It's got to be the coolest feeling---knowing there's life inside.

The past couple days have been stressful driving from Raymond in to work---the roads are icy and I spend most of the time driving totally stressed. I've heard stress is not good for the developing fetus. My job presents stressful situations as well. Once I remember an angry patient who yelled and swore angrily at me and afer I finally got him out of the clinic I felt the baby---he must have literally being doing somersaults. I felt bad about that. But for the most part there hasn't been a lot of really bad stress especially the kind that can effect the fetus.

Mont asked me yesterday when I was going to have this baby cuz he wants to play with him. He cant' wait to be a dad. He's going to be such a good dad. He's such a gentle loving person. I know he'll be a sweet dad. But I also know he'll be balanced with his disciplining and teaching.

18 Weeks

18 weeks pregnant and everything seems to be going good---at least I don't have any complaints. I feel great! Works been good so far. I like the drive in every morning. As long as weather co-operates it's really good. I worry a bit about winter driving and the baby. I think it will be fine but there's always a little worry since most my driving will be in the winter months. I told my boss and mostly everyone knows at work that I'm pregnant. I felt bad cuz it was so soon. I didn't know I was expecting when I first started talking to Ron Johnson and Dr. Clarke about working here again. I am really glad I get to work though. I needed to. I was sick and emotional and bored for 3 months and it wasn't fun. Mont and I had more issues to discuss than usual because i was so stressed about being parents and then Mont took the brunt of the hormones and all my worrying.

A lot has happened and Mont and I have gone through a bunch of changes in our life with getting married, living in Olds, then a job change, a move, buying a house, and then discovering that we were going to be parents in less than a year. After the shock wore off we became very excited. I feel so much happier now that the sickness is gone and I am more confident about becoming a parent with Mont. We have a good relationship and we are in a very good situation to bring a child in to. Not only our relationship but Mont has a good job and make pretty good money, we have our own home, and there isn't a whole lot to be overly concerned about with the life we can give to this baby we are being blessing with. And we'll have other children---siblings for this child---in time. As with the timing of this baby I know we'll know the time is right to have the other, of course as the Lord sees fit to bless us with. We feel so blessed to have been able to get pregnant with this one...and so easily....without planning or even trying.

Anyway my stomach is growing. Technically it's not my stomach of course, my uterus. I wore my first maternity shirt yesterday to Stake Conference. Church clothes are so hard to find as far as ones that actually fit now. So I wore a shirt with one of my normal skirts. It made it so much obvious that I'm expecting. MY pants are still fitting just fine. We just bought some low rise stretch denim jeans up in Calgary a week ago. They seem like  they'll work just fine to wear through the next 5 months. I got the clothes Holli sent and I Liked most of them. Some cute ones had stains on them so I sent them back to her.

3 Months

I am done the first trimester and compared to how I was feeling I feel great now! On October 3, 2005 I am going back to work at the Cardston Medical Clinic and since I'm feeling so much better than I have been I feel ready and excited. I will work for 6 months---hopefully be able to work right up until the first week of April.

I am starting to show in certain clothes. Mostly small, closer fitting little shirts---so I wear a jacket over top usually. Not that I'm ashamed. There is a definite bulge there though and by the end of the day it's showing even through a jacket.

Mont talks to the baby through my stomach. He's going to be such a great dad---I have no doubts about that. We are both excited to be parents.

We have a nice home to bring the baby home to and we have a room set up just for her (or him). Actually it's not set up but we are going to paint it and clean up the hardwood and make it a cute baby room.

I grew up always wanting boys and not girls but for some reason I really want a little girl. I won't be disappointed either way but I imagine this baby is a girl. Maybe cuz I really want to name her Kinlee Rae. I really like that name. If it's a boy Mont is in to really different and cowboy names. He thinks it's a boy and will name him. He wants to name him Kauy Jensen. For awhile I liked the name Montanna Lyn. Call her Montilyn for short. Mont loved that one, too. We'll see.

I am going in to my 15th week of pregnancy and I really can't complain I feel grateful that I feel as good as I do.

I still take prenatal vitamins every day and try to keep a healthy diet.

Holli is sending me her maternity clothes today. It'll be so nice to get those. I wasn't sure what I was going to do about hat cuz I'll need them soon and Canada has next to nothing available.

9 Weeks

This is my first pregnancy. I am about 9 weeks pregnant. I've been to one doctor. Dr. Terry Smith in Raymond (he helped deliver Mont when Mont was born). According to Dr. Smith (and internet due dates) our baby is due on April 5, 2006 [if I were to make the estimate myself I would say this pregnancy began July 19, 2005 and will go until April 12, 2006]. I'm also sure this baby is a girl. We'll probably find out for sure in a few months though.

So far over the last 7 weeks I have not felt well at all. Mostly nausea---feeling like I could throw up---although I haven't thrown up...yet). I am very tired every day and energy-less especially in the morning. I find that if I eat, the nausea isn't as strong.

I haven't really had any cravings but I only want to eat fruits and vegetables.

Besides soda crackers the only other thing that would help me feel better was to eat a bowl of noodle soup with broth.

I take a multivitamin (prenatal) everyday.

I only want food that is good for our developing baby.

I've had salmon lately and I love it. I think cuz it is so good for the baby.

At first I was worried about a few things. One was the baby's nervous system and spinal cord. A lot because Mont has had such major issues with that. But Mont's wasn't and isn't hereditary. It was a waterskiing accident, and triggered then because of his being a twin and very premature.

For about 2 weeks---the beginning of August---I had really bad morning sickness. I was trying to help my sister Christal who lives across the street cuz she'd gone through another cyst removal surgery. It was right before then and during that I was at my worst. After one really bad day I asked Mont if he'd give me a blessing. He gave me one that night. And it was so reassuring. The sickness I was feeling did not return the next morning and hasn't since.

I eat constantly throughout the day to avoid getting so sick. Today I ate a peach, yogurt, a plum, a small slice of pizza, lots of grapefruit juice, a fruit bar, a 1/2 of a long english cucumber with salt, 2 slices of tomato with salt, pasta with butter and salt, a frozen fudge bar, and for dinner I will probably have a garden salad.
