6 Months

I am almost 6 months along now.

And I am feeling GREAT! Everything seems to be going fairly well---as far as I know and feel.

We had an ultrasound at Radiology Associates in Lethbridge last week. Mont came with me. That's the 2nd appointment he's come to with me and I love when he comes. He came when we heard the baby's heart beat for the first time. That was cool.

The ultrasound was cool too. The technician said we have a very active baby in there. Also told us that the baby's heart beat was at 146 beats per minute. While we were in the ultrasound Mont was jokingly telling me how he could tell it was boy, using gestures, and looking at the screen. I couldn't see the screen from where I was laying. The tech doing the u/s freaked out at me saying she couldn't continue the exam and I'd have to come back another day if I didn't stop laughing. I told her to go on. She was kind of a bag.

The baby moves a lot. I've felt her/him for a long time now. The first time was a little over a month ago. But now it's everyday. And it's amazing. I love it. It's got to be the coolest feeling---knowing there's life inside.

The past couple days have been stressful driving from Raymond in to work---the roads are icy and I spend most of the time driving totally stressed. I've heard stress is not good for the developing fetus. My job presents stressful situations as well. Once I remember an angry patient who yelled and swore angrily at me and afer I finally got him out of the clinic I felt the baby---he must have literally being doing somersaults. I felt bad about that. But for the most part there hasn't been a lot of really bad stress especially the kind that can effect the fetus.

Mont asked me yesterday when I was going to have this baby cuz he wants to play with him. He cant' wait to be a dad. He's going to be such a good dad. He's such a gentle loving person. I know he'll be a sweet dad. But I also know he'll be balanced with his disciplining and teaching.
